Hello and welcome to Just Answer! I have seen this problem caused by a few different things like oil level too high, excessive blow by and the crankcase vent oil drain plugged. The first thing I would do is check the oil level. Then smell the oil to see if it smells like there is diesel in the oil. Finding and fixing the oil leak is goo but the only part of the blow by that I would be checking into is making sure the turbo isnt pressurizing the crank case.


Otherwise, put a catch tank on it and run it. Two things cause oil to blow out the breather tube. If the fuel transfer pump diaphragm ruptures, it will put diesel into the crankcase and the engine will blow the excess out the breather tube. The oil will be very thin and will smell like diesel. Excessive diesel blow -by can caused by piston rings that are sticking in the bore.


One of the ways to check if blow -by is too great is to put your oil filler cap upside down on the filler hole. If the cap gets blown off, there is too much pressure in the crank case.
