How do you use seafoam

I am not a fan of Seafoam. It leaves an oily residue that. You have to dump in directly into the air intake while playing with the throttle to force it to run.


Then when you get to a half can stop with the throttle and stall it out by dumping the rest into the air intake. You can use it to remove buildup in the engine, fuel injectors, or oil system. Seafoam serves a variety of automotive purposes.


Make sure that you know how much to ad though, since adding too much can cause more harm than good. One can treats quarts of oil so you get treatments in one can for most vehicles. You need to run it for a little while so it can do its thing of cleaning the internals of the engine, but not so long as to cause issues. Intake Tract Cleaning: - This part is a little more involved. Add when the tank is low to maximize cleaning concentration. Use in all types of conventional and synthetic motor oils. Why You Should NEVER EVER USE SEAFOAM ! It can reduce carbon build up, reduce ping, a rough idle, improve gas mileage and clean out your fuel system. This can save gas and give you more miles to the gallon. I do the same about every months. I have no idea if it does any goo but it doesn’t hurt at that frequency.


If you were to call the folks at SeaFoam they’d tell you to use it as much as you want (not surprisingly). My Olds Intrigue has 210miles on the original fuel pump, maybe I got lucky so far or maybe those products do make a difference. Did you dump it into a vacuum hose into the intake?


As the SeaFoam gets sucked up into the intake you will hear the engine start to choke. Do not let the engine stall (by modulating the throttle) until half the container has been sucked into the engine. The best practice is to use 1. I much prefer Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner from Dodge dealers - cheaper, easier to use , safer, and non-addictive. Use it according to the instructions in the first source rather than the instructions on the can. I do not have that problem ever since I started using SeaFoam.

DO NOT SPREAD OUT, AIR WILL BE DEFLATED and candy will stick to teeth. Note: If you desire you can spread cup of chocolate chips, white chips, butterscotch chips or mint chips on the hot candy in the pan and spread to coat the top and sprinkle with nuts before it cools. Gas can be kept for years with absolutely no issues what so ever.

It probably won’t do any harm other than to your bank account, but it won’t have any benefit either. Over the years, we used many fuel additive and engine cleaning products. Sea Foam is an excellent option amongst many.


If you have gasoline in your tank that has ethanol, you can use Sta-bil, but only in the recommended amount.

Adding more, again, can cause problems. It turns the liquid into a vapor like substance before it goes in the vacuum line. Like others said not so much on newer vehicles in my experience.


I use this gadget when using Seafoam. Why are you trying to use it in your oil? There are ways to use seafoam. You might see some fumes coming out or hear some bubbling or whatever, just get it in there quickly. Quickly put the spark plug back in and tighten it down like normal.


I have found that by using the maintenance dose and measuring it out, a pint goes a long way. I have become a huge seafoam fan over the past year. My opinion is better off get yourself a can of Starting Fluid.


If you want to knock off carbon, do some full throttle runs, preferably up a long hill. You would be surprised how many people at parts stores recommend that people put seafoam in the crankcase. It is just going to dilute it and break it down in my opinion.


I would never run any cleaner in the oil. I was hesitant to but because it looks so dark green but it’s much lighter in real life! My question is this, Which do you all prefer more Sea-foam or Star-tron fuel treatment and how often to you use it? Over Thanksgiving, I had time to take off the carb which required a bit of work on a KX250F. I always pull the vacuum line off then cap it with my finger then have a assisant start the motor then as the motor runs pour it in but i dont use seafoam i always used GM stuff thats what the dealers use and its very hard to get but excellent stuff had some very good.


Usually if dont smoke you have a pretty much clean internal motor. Understandingly, this has elicited many different opinions and speculation as to whether we are wasting our time and money. Just because you use it and have not had problems, could be said about a lot of these fuel products. Each to their own but I also swear by SeaFoam.


A nose heavy airplane flies poorly, a tail heavy plane flies once. Do that maybe times a year.
