Painting a bumper

Wash the bumper cover thoroughly with degreaser and water. Wet sand the bumper cover with 6grit sandpaper in alternating directions. Wipe the bumper cover down with a clean tack cloth. Check out our video about painting a bumper cover like a pro.


It is very important to prepare your bumper the right way before you paint it. First, activate your spray can or paint gun before your first pass over the bumper cover. Letting that dry and then flipping it over, light sanding, and painting the other (front side). I have seen people hang the bumper. It seems like where the hanger is, it would mask the paint and create an issue.
