Does seafoam work in the gas tank

Seafoam in gas tank DONT DO IT! Works great in the manifold however a really bad idea in the tank. I used it once in my ’Cadillac and the fuel performance was much better, there was noticeably smoother and faster acceleration. It reduced my carbon deposits in the combustion chambers, although it did not instantly remove all of it.

After a few hours of fishing , the engine ran better than it probably had in years. When you fill up the tank , it will thoroughly mix in with the gas and work as it should. My experience with seafoam was excellent, i noticed a big difference immediately, but I used it in the vaccum lines, and the gas tank.

I was reading the can when I was in the store one day and it said that you can literally use this stuff on everything. However, people who have used it in their gas tank. Does SeaFoam actually work in a vehicle? I add SeaFoam periodically.

Especially before an oil change. All right before I change the oil. I am impressed by the and finally we have proof that seafoam actually works! What happens if you put BRAKE FLUID in your gas tank ? Sea Foam does work very well. Some products that are advertised as quieting noisy engines do work sometimes.

It really helps to clean up gunk and rejuvenate the fuel ! No air getting into the tank except when adding gasoline equals no condensation. I agree with Waitits though, manually estimating MPG is the way to go. Its main function is getting the carbon out of an engine and it works great on strokes and old strokes that have been around for years or abused. It does also remove petroleum varnish in the crankcase without over thinning the oil.

In both gas and oil it does bond with suspended moisture and keeps it from separating out. Another added bonus is it will remove condensation from the fuel. That alone is better than using isopropyl. Thats my small bit of proof. Fill the fuel tank almost completely, using the grade of fuel required by your motorcycle.

SEA FOAM Motor Treatment is a 1 pure petroleum product that safely and effectively cleans internal fuel and oil system components, helping your gasoline or diesel engine run cleaner and more efficiently.

does seafoam work in the gas tank

SEA FOAM is an EPA-registered product, and will not harm engine components, seals, gaskets, catalytic converters or oxygen sensors. Most fuels today allow up to alcohol content already. A solution of seafoam in the gas tank can clear any deposits in the fuel system.

Vehicle performance is affected You know that you have contaminated fuel in the car when you have problems accelerating. I followed the instructions on the can, let it run for like ten minutes after I put it in the tank , then turned it off and let it sit for about minutes. When used in this way, it will help clean your fuel injectors and can boost fuel economy and give you a better idle. Any advice on how to use seafoam ? I disconnected the fuel line from the tank.

I use gumout regane fuel system cleaner for the fuel injector but a friend recommended i use sea foam engine treatment. Condensation Water can get into a gas tank even if you didn’t put it there.

does seafoam work in the gas tank

Dumping it in the gas tank doesnt do much. Other Fuel Stabilizers work as well. I just like SeaFoam because it also does a great job of removing carbon deposits (lab proven). But what it CANNOT do is remove silt and sediment from the fuel and or rust flakes from fuel tanks. I loaded it up with ethanol free gas before storage.

We do have a high humidity issues in enclosures. Now the fuel filter in this car is the original one with 170k miles on it. Use a modern cleaner once or twice in the gas tank each year. But get the modern stuff, like Chevron Techron, Gumout Regane, or Redline SI-1.

This will clean the whole fuel system, valves, and C. Putting it in the gas tank and the oil right before an oil change does help clean stuff out. Sucking it in through the booster line tends to only pull the stuff into one cylinder. Add it to every other tank of gas. It does a great job in cleaning the carbs and keeping the bike running smooth. I also when winterizing the bikes drain about a half quart of oil then add a half of quart of seafoam and run the bike until hot.

Re: Does seafoam actually work ? The engine calmed right down to normal when it was out of the gas. They do that on cars to clean the throttle body. The dirty parts in a carb are in the float bowl. Let it sit overnight and then go for a ride. For a plastic fuel tank , I would first try fresh Ewith a little Sta-Bil and a good slug of seafoam mixed in.

This gives you a reasonably benign mix of ethanol, naptha, gasoline and other petroleum distillates to dissolve the crud. It loosens and dissolves varnish and other fuel system residues. It can open partially clogged injectors and remove varnish and residue that is causing a carb not to function properly. It can also help an engine more easily burn fuel with slight water contamination.

I went and picked up some fuel treatment and fuel injector cleaner today. The guy at the store said that I should wait till the tank is almost completely empty, then add the treatment, then fill up my tank on top of it. Im assuming with no gas tank It would not be running but how do I know if the seafoam is in the carbs enough?

I know very dumb question but this is the only part im confused about. Do you think just dumping a full can into the gas tank would do the trick as well? Do it through the PCV line on a hot engine. Do a search on the forums for the entire instructions. Far too weak to do any good when mixed with gasoline.

But directly to the cylinders through the PCV it does a wonderful job. I think if you’re going to add a gas treatment to the tank , a product containing polyisbutylamine (PIBA) and polyetheramine (PEA) might perform better.
